Symposium: a warm welcome to 109 people from 23 different countries.

After a short welcome word from the Tims council president, the president of the Astra Museum and Florin, the Tims symposium president, we were ready to listen to the first presentations. Mills in California, Ukraine mills, sugarmills, and a history of the Astra museum. Lunch break in an outside timber building was OK. Between twelve and two it can be hot in this area.

Afterwards the council met, and we strolled through the open air museum and its beautiful surroundings for the rest of the afternoon. Finally time to take my first pictures of windmills.

Some of them are build in a simple almost primitive way, some of them, on the inside, look like the old watermills we know. Stones driven from underneath. One mill’s base looks like it is constructed in the way our colarcaps are build.
